Rajiv Rai, the producer of the hit film Gupt, revealed the story behind granting the use of the iconic song "Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela" for Aryan Khan's directorial debut, *The Ba**ds of Bollywood.
In a recent interview, Rai shared that he initially received a call from Shah Rukh Khan's manager, Pooja Dadlani, expressing interest in using the song. Soon after, SRK himself took the phone, personally requesting permission.
Rai emphasized that he typically doesn't license his songs easily. He appreciates when filmmakers seek permission directly from the producer, rather than going straight to the music company.
According to Rai, Shah Rukh Khan specifically said, "This is my son's first project, and I need your support and goodwill." Touched by the request, Rai immediately decided to grant the rights to the song free of charge. He stated that while SRK offered payment, he declined, valuing the goodwill gesture more.
Rai described SRK as a "dignified" and "respected" figure in the industry and assured him of his full support. He recounted telling the superstar not to worry about the song, as he was happy to contribute to Aryan's project.
*The Bads of Bollywood, directed by Aryan Khan**, premiered on Netflix on September 18, 2025. The show features a cast including Lakshya, Bobby Deol, Raghav Juyal, Sahher Bambba, Anya Singh, and Mona Singh.
