Bhojpuri actor-singer Pawan Singh has once again found himself surrounded by controversy. A viral video from a promotional event in Lucknow for his latest song Saiyan Seva Kare shows Singh allegedly touching his co-star Anjali Raghav inappropriately. The clip drew massive backlash on social media, with many slamming the actor’s conduct.
In the midst of the outrage, Singh took to Instagram and shared a cryptic note alongside a picture of himself with folded hands. In Hindi, he wrote: “जिस तन लागे सो तन जाने, कोई न जाने पीर पराई”—a saying that loosely translates to “only the one who suffers knows the pain; no one else can truly understand another’s suffering.”
Anjali Raghav quits Bhojpuri industry
The incident prompted Anjali Raghav, a well-known name in Haryanvi music, to issue a strong statement. Declaring her permanent exit from the Bhojpuri industry, she said the incident left her shaken.
“I’ve been under immense stress ever since the video went viral. People keep asking why I didn’t slap him on stage, but those who question don’t understand what you go through in such a moment. I was deeply uncomfortable and this experience has scarred me,” she shared.
Personal life turmoil adds to controversy
As the professional storm intensified, Singh’s personal life too came under the scanner. His second wife, Jyoti Singh, posted a heart-wrenching note on Instagram, accusing him of neglect and emotional abandonment.
In her post, Jyoti alleged that Singh had not been responding to her calls or messages for months, despite repeated attempts to connect on personal as well as political matters. “When I went to meet you during Chhath Puja in Lucknow, you didn’t even meet me,” she wrote, sharing a picture from their wedding.
Jyoti Singh’s emotional appeal
What disturbed fans most was Jyoti’s revelation that Singh’s behaviour had pushed her to the brink. “Today, you have left me with no other choice than to think of self-immolation, though I cannot even do that because society will raise questions against me and my parents,” she confessed.
Jyoti further wrote that she had always fulfilled her duties as a wife and now wanted Singh to do the same as a husband. “If you don’t consider me your wife, say it clearly. If there is any iota of humanity left, stand by me once. You have forgiven outsiders, I am your family. Whom should I share my pain with when even my family doesn’t try to understand me?”

Her note concluded with a desperate plea: “This is my final request after seven years of struggle. I have begun to hate my life. Please respond to my calls, try to understand my pain just once.”
Pawan Singh married Jyoti in 2018. He was earlier married to Neelam Singh in 2014, but she passed away in 2015, less than a year after their wedding.
